What a fabulous way to mix work and play at the combined Missouri and Arkansas Otolaryngology Society Meeting at Big Cedar Lodge. On the shores of Table Rock Lake in the heart of the beautiful Ozarks, colleagues convened to listen and participate in a series of lectures and panel discussions thematically focused this year on rhinology. Outstanding guest faculty Bart Knox, MD (ENT Associates of Colorado, Boulder, CO) and Raj Sindwani, MD (Cleveland Clinic, OH) combined with regional faculty from Missouri (Jastin Antisdale, MD and Joe Brunworth, MD) and Arkansas (Jennings Boyette, MD). Presentations included challenging cases, tips on control of feared carotid injury, and incorporation of in-clinic sinus procedures. In addition to practicing physicians from both states, we welcomed allopathic and osteopathic otolaryngology residents as well.
While mornings were filled with didactics, afternoons were filled with recreation ranging from horseback riding, hiking, golf (one of the most amazing driving ranges I have ever seen), and fishing. Evening dinners on Friday and Saturday provided a way for physicians and families alike to fellowship and network together. We look forward to seeing you at our next combined event in 2017. But before that, we invite you to attend our next Missouri Society of Otolaryngology meeting this March 2016 in St. Louis.
